Every Friday night Dixon Street, in the heart of Sydney’s Chinatown, comes alive with all the enticing sights, sounds and smells of a bustling night market. It’s on my way home after work and perfect for grabbing a bite. I’m fascinated by the way Takoyaki (Octopus balls) is made and feel almost hypnotised watching Roti being rolled and flipped but it’s the dumpling stall that always draws me in. To be honest, it’s the visual sight of the steam flowing from the stall and picking up the coloured light of surrounding shop fronts and signs that really attracts me. There is a also a frenetic energy amongst the dumpling ladies and customers as orders are being shouted out and dumplings served which makes for some great moments to capture with my camera.
The following have all been captured using my Canon 5D Mkiii and EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens. Let me know what you think below.
